No and hypnosis is almost certainly not what you think it is.
Hypnosis is as easily described as ‘focused relaxation’ where the subconscious mind is open to suggestion and you cannot be controlled by the person hypnotising you.
Relaxation is the most effective tool for dealing with tension, stress, and discomfort and together with visualisation can help the body birth without the need for drugs.
Will it work for me?
We all go in and out of hypnosis naturally on a regular daily basis, when we’re absorbed in a good film or reading a good book for example.
For it is simply a state of deep relaxation, you are fully in control and still awake.
You’ll always be aware of what is happening to you, and around you.
